Jeremy's Care Bags

BIG Love Cancer Care

Texas Children's Hospital, Houston, TX Main Campus.

Coordinators: Julie and John Mathew

In loving memory of Jeremy Mathew

Jeremy was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma on January 2, 2008 at the age of two. He went through his treatment at Texas Children's Hospital and was doing well. Then 9 months into his treatment he developed a secondary cancer, Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Our baby fought so strongly through it all. He went to heaven September 18, 2008, no more cancer no more pain.

In effort to give back to other families and in memory of our son, Jeremy's Care Bags were created to help families during their stay at the hospital with their child.  Jeremy's Car Bags provide basic necessities that are needed for an extended stay at the hospital.

"My daughter was in ICU for days and then when there was nothing else anyone could do, we were blessed to be able to take her home where she always loved to be. Before she passed away, our social worker gave us this wonderful basket full of goodness. The basket had so many things that we needed. I wanted to say thank you to B.I.G. love for the basket and all the heartfelt love that was placed in creating the basket. We truly appreciate it."
