For those who had been affected by childhood cancer and have found a calling in nursing.
This scholarship was established in 2014 in honor of Natalia Lopez. Natalia was diagnosed with AML leukemia in 2009 at the age of 15. She received 3 rounds of treatment and a bone marrow transplant, but relapsed just 3 months after transplant. She died on Oct 28th 2009. Natalia love to dance and cook. She always knew that when she grew up she would work with children. After spending a few weeks in the cancer center, she found her calling: she would be a pediatric oncology nurse. Natalia's smile and warm hugs will be missed always…
We have established this scholarship in honor of Natalia and the nurses that were her inspiration to become a nurse.
